I'm sick of this "Smoke free movies" and so on actions. Come on. Cigarettes became a huge part of modern art, a symbol of freedom; free will in particular.
What would be Breakfast at Tiffanys without Hepburn smoking? Wild at heart? Casablanca? Coffe&Cigarettes? Romace&Cigarettes? Popiół i Diament? Amusing, Bruce Willis in Die Hard 1 was smoking like crazy but in Die Hard 4 he gave it up. Same with John Rambo. In the new rambo film you can see legs cut off but not a soldier smoking. Fake morality, anyone? Luckily, literature doesnt give a damn and writers dont waste what Baudleire, Valery or Oscar Wilde had done. Perez-Reverte's characters - smoking. Amos Oz - smoking. Houellebecq - also. Dont get me wrong, I'm a non-smoker myself. But knowing a thing bout modern culture we cant ignore cigarettes. Ps. Ielts passed with overall 7,5  looondooon i'm on my waaaay |
